part of a well-balanced meal

"I need a snack," I am informed. "Where are the Pop-Tarts™?" 

I obliging fetch her a packet. 

She opens it up and takes a bite. Then another. Then a third. At which point she cries, "Hey! These are chocolate!" 

"Yes?" I agree, having gone quite a bit out of my way to find her old favorites, which are only sold in very very very few stores, when they're even sold at all these days, often going out of print for years at a time. 

"I thought you said you bought cherry?" 

"Oh, right, I did," I agree. I fetch those for her and hand them over. 

This time she inspects the delectable pastry before consuming (much less a second or third bite). She nods, satisfied. "A girl's gotta make sure she gets her Recommended Daily Allowance of fruits," she says softly.
