The Defense Department last week identified the following U.S. military personnel killed in Iraq:Michael T. Manibog, 31, of Alameda, California; specialist, Army. Manibog was one of four soldiers killed when their vehicle encountered a roadside bomb in Taji, Iraq, on February 8, 2008. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
Timothy P. Martin, 27, of Pixley, California; sergeant, Army. Martin was one of four soldiers killed when their vehicle encountered a roadside bomb in Taji, Iraq, on February 8, 2008. He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
Jack T. Sweet, 19, of Alexandria Bay, New York; private first class, Army. Sweet died of wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered a roadside bomb in Jawwalah, Iraq, on February 8, 2008. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division.
Staff Sgt. Jerald A. Whisenhun, 32, of Orrick, Missouri; staff sergeant, Army. Whisenhunt was one of four soldiers killed when their vehicle encountered a roadside bomb in Taji, Iraq, on February 8, 2008. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
Gary D. Willett, 34, of Alamogordo, New Mexico; sergeant, Army. Willett was one of four soldiers killed when their vehicle encountered a roadside bomb in Taji, Iraq, on February 8, 2008. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
