In Memoriam

Thomas L. Bruner, 50, of Owensboro, Ky., master sergeant, Army. Bruner died October 28 in Kabul, Afghanistan, of illness.

James D. Bullard, 28, of Marion, S.C., staff sergeant, Army. Bullard died October 30 in Sperwan Ghar, Afghanistan, in a firefight.

Jeffrey R. Calero, 34, of Queens Village, N.Y., major, Army. Calero was killed October 29 in Kajaki, Afghanistan, by an improvised explosive device.

Cody M. Carver, 19, of Haskell, Okla., private, Army. Carver was killed in Salman Pak, Iraq.

Joseph F. Curreri, 27, of Los Angeles, staff sergeant Special Forces, Army. Curreri died October 27 in Siet Lake, Jolo Island, Philippines, in a noncombat incident.

Louis A. Griese, 30, of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., sergeant, Army. Griese died October 31 in Tikrit, Iraq, after being struck by a roadside explosive north of Samarra.

Rush M. Jenkins, 22, of Clarksville, Tenn., private first class, Army. Jenkins was killed in Salman Pak, Iraq.

David E. Lambert, 39, of Cedar Bluff, Va., specialist, Army. Lambert was killed October 26 by an improvised explosive device in Baghdad.

Daniel L. McCall, 24, of Pace, Fla., sergeant, Army. McCall died October 30 in Baghdad of wounds from small-arms fire and an improvised explosive device in Salman Pak, Iraq.

Timothy I. McGovern, 28, of Indiana, captain, Army. McGovern died October 31 in Mosul, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.

Brandon W. Smitherman, 21, of Conroe, Texas, specialist, Army. Smitherman was killed in Mosul, Iraq.
