I grew up in NOLA and my family lost 3 homes, two are being rebuilt. My father told me when I was a kid that the New Orleans I know is not the same city he grew up in. The year was 1978 and I was only a freshman in high school. What everyone saw during the storm is what New Orleans had been hiding for years. The city has been run by bad cops, bad politicians with bad schools and no jobs, money or future. Some of us would like to see the city have an A Bomb dropped on it and rebuilt. Wait, maybe that did happen. Nagin should be shot in the head.
