So here’s a link that 99.9% of Left of the Dialians will love. (The other one has gout and experienced some unpleasant travel delays on Thanksgiving.)
Here’s a site with the same video, but which also has a list of the songs; however, I highly recommend listening to it cold.
Who knew that Steve Perry and Neal Schon were the alpha and the omega of rock and roll? (If you’ve seen Behind the Music, actually, it certainly seems like they’ve known all along. Take that, Barry Manilow!)
[Oh, Barry, don’t be that way. You knows I still I loves you.]
You know, on an ever so slightly more serious note, after you’ve been playing the guitar about three weeks, you discover that with three chords, you can play roughly 50% of rock songs; learn I-IV-V in even one key and you’ve unlocked the door to the majesties of the entire universe. Add a fourth chord and you’re up to about 80% of songs; that vi allows you to step over the threshold into galactic nirvana.
And those other 20% of songs? Screw ‘em, the pretentious bastards.
